About

I am an emerging high school senior at Grant High School in Portland Oregon. I enjoy writing poetry, debating, collecting rocks (and other found objects) and am passionate about researching specific topics such as Medieval History, the Napoleonic era, world history from the 1900s to the 1980s, as well as philosophy, current and historical political issues, and certain aspects of math and engineering as they relate to how things work. I especially enjoy exploring why things are as they are and how they would act differently under different circumstances, in essence, cause and effect.

I have a natural propensity to notice pattern anomalies, errors, missing information and outliers both in day to day contexts and in academic pursuits. Sometimes this presents as disdain for a poorly sewn pattern where the lines do not match, but other times this looks like noticing errors in a code sequence or a gap in crucial or relevant information. As you can imagine this can be a useful, humorous and, at times, frustrating quirk, but it allows me a vantage point of the world that is steeped in curiosity and the pursuit of a deeper understanding of a wide range of things.
